12.Fossil Basin Institute(non-registered)

Fossil Basin Institute was founded in 2010 to stimulate interest in education and interpretive activities and encourge scientific investigation and research in the fields of natural and cultural history pretaining to Fossil Basin and its surrounding region. The intitute will be housed in the Oregon Short Line Railroad Station in Fossil, Wyoming. Renovation began in the summer of 2011. The institute in a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

This is an incredible and very well done project. Viewing these historical photos has brought not only a huge amount of pleasure, but a wonderful historical perspective of the area. I can understand what drew so many pioneer families including my own, to this beautiful and rich location.
